The LTC’s 2007 Annual Report was presented to ETC at it’s 2008/04/21 meeting. I recorded the presentation as best I could. Council seems unwilling to address the audio problems. Which is compounded by the continued failure of most Councillors to turn on their microphones and/or place them close enough while speaking. Despite all of my emails and my submission to the Governance Task Force. You’d almost think that they prefer to operate without scrutiny.
For now, the only thing that I’m going to comment on with respect to the LTC report is the subject of ridership numbers. Again.
Several hours prior to the ETC meeting, I notified Larry Ducharme of my most recent post with respect to his ridership claims. I also copied that email to every member of ETC. I’ve been concerned about the validity of his stats for quite some time, and have made numerous efforts to solicit a response from Mr. Ducharme. But to no avail. Still, it was a bit of a surprise when neither he or Councillor Usher nor any member of ETC referred to the subject.
Is this what’s known as:
- accountability?
- transparency?
- rubber stamping?
- burying your head in the sand?
- a whitewash?
- none of the above?
