gf20070402002.jpgIn a recent Rogers13 segment of ‘Politically Speaking,’ Councillor Judy Bryant spoke about the need to review the issue of drive-thru’s in London. She commented about the need for signage for pedestrians to obey, but said nothing about signage for drivers and design rules in order to protect pedestrians.

The photo in this post is of the Tim Horton’s drive-thru at Commissioners Road & Adelaide Street. It is not at all uncommon for drivers to pull away from the pickup window, head down (or averted), totally oblivious to any pedestrians who might be crossing to/from the coffee shop from/to the adjoining businesses.

Like the dangerous intersection at Commissioners & Pond Mills, just another good example of the way that the safety of pedestrians is ignored by City Hall.
