Still Waiting Patiently…

by

…for Ward 1 Councillor Roger Caranci to respond to my 2007/04/20 publiic safety inquiry about the height of walkway fences and in particular, the height of the fence in the walkway which connects Eagle Crescent to King Edward Avenue.

Apparently, Councillor Caranci did influence staff to at least do the much-needed and long-overdo maintenance in the local walkway that I posted about last month:

Kudos to the Councillor for that much at least.

Too bad that the city crew didn’t pay any attention to anything else while they were in the area. If they had been, they’d have been hard-pressed not to see the foliage similarly intruding upon the sidewalk on the north side of Commissioners between King Edward Ave. and Eagle Crescent. Something else that puts pedestrians at risk (forcing them off the sidewalk and onto the bike path), and something else that I have complained to city staff about in the past:

One Response to “Still Waiting Patiently…”

  1. Carmi Says:

I’ve often wondered if the city actually has a schedule for maintaining these paths, or whether they simply wait for the complaints to come rolling in.

I’m leaning toward the latter. Virtually every path that I’ve walked since I moved here seems to suffer from the same overgrowth malaise.

One wonders what they’re doing in City Hall if not this.
