LTC Coverup?

This is the LTC transit shelter which is situated in front of the Blockbuster store in the Pond Mills Plaza.

You may recall my recent post about the damage that was done to it. Here are the photos that I took on 7/28. A police cruiser was just feet away and was pointed towards the shelter.

Ms Kurowski,

Still waiting for a reply to the inquiry I made 2007/07/28 with respect to the damage to the Commissioners Rd. E. transit shelter (pictures and blog post: https://frommybottomstep.wordpress.com/2007/07/28/transit-shelter-destruction/) using the LTC site’s email form.

Respectfully,

Greg Fowler

Mr. Fowler,

We have received your email with pictures of damaged shelter in front of the Blockbuster at Commissioners Road near Pond Mills.

We dispatched our staff on Monday, July 30, 2007 to inspect the shelter, but found no damage to that particular one. Upon contacting the shelter contractor with an enquiry as to any shelter damage reported, we were advised that last time that particular shelter was damaged on April 25, 2007.

Please advise what information are you looking for in regards to bus shelters.

Sincerely,

Joanna Kurowski
Manager of Service Quality
London Transit

This is the picture which I took of the same shelter on 8/03. The yellow tape and most of the broken glass had been removed, but the replacement glass had not yet been installed.

I guess the “LTC staff” that were “sent out” must not have noticed that. Or maybe they don’t know what a BlockBuster store looks like and went to the wrong shelter…

It’s quite clear from at least one of the photos where the transit shelter is located in relation to the Commissioners/Pond Mills intersection. The photos were taken 7/28. And there was a police cruiser there at the same time that I took the photos.

My most recent photo of the shelter was taken 8/03. The yellow tape and the damage had been removed but the glass had not yet been replaced. That photo can be viewed here:

Can we stop playing word games now? The information I’m looking for was quite clearly stated in my original email. How did the damage occur?

Mr. Fowler,

We have concluded our investigation of the bus shelter located at Commissioners and Pond Mills.

Please refer to my previous email.

Sincerely,

Why is the LTC unwilling to tell the truth about what happened? Is this the “transparency” that the City Manager and the Mayor keep talking about?
