LPL Meeting – 2007/11/21

Okay. I’ve been harping quite a bit recently about my problems accessing information from City Hall, so let’s turn our attention back to the Library Board for a moment again. As hard as it is to deal with City Hall sometimes, it’s Boards & Commissions are even less responsive to interested citizens. Click HERE and HERE for a couple of perfect LTC examples ;(

Further to my last LPL post about the library, and the difficulty in accessing Library Board information on it’s website…

Dear Mr. Fowler,

We just launched our new and improved website today … hopefully you will enjoy it and find everything you are looking for.  I have attached the link to board info for you.

Ms Becker,

I note that you have avoided my question about rebranding costs.

As for the new website, while the look is different, I’m not sure that it’s any easier to navigate. In your latest agenda, one of the items is “2008 Sustainability Business Plan and Budget Implications.” But there’s no hyperlink to the document. Is there no search facility? I couldn’t find one.

Mr. Fowler, board reports are quite easy to access via our website. How?

  • click on About My Library
  • click on Library Board, Administration & Policies
  • click on Reports and they are clearly outlined by month and the name of each report is given.
  • The board report in June provides details on the rebranding expenses… the link is attached.

The link for the sustainability report is as follows, as per the October board meeting:

Please note, the board has recommended Alternative #7.

    Hope these help.

I’ve just finished a quick examination of Wednesday’s agenda. Quick, because the PDF agenda document didn’t provide links to any supporting documentation.
